The turning point of film effects awesomeness and the beginning of Science Fiction movies. And also, the mini skirt makes its first film appearance!

Watching Wild Rice’s Romeo & Juliet turned back time and turned me into little school girl gushing over Leonardo Di Caprio - my Romeo from childhood!
The production was agreeable with me, although some scenes were cheesily uncalled for such as the sudden victorian-techno version of “Marry the Night” and the ghostly projection of Juliet during Romeo’s soliloquy.
I could see Hansel’s drama background through the way he run through his lines perfectly in pentameter..not sure if it was his intention to be an desperate-emo-whiny-hormone raging Romeo (that was not lovable to me) but if it was, good job. And was Romeo not suppose to be all gaga over Rosaline? Saw none of that! Maybe Ivan Heng wanted to play down that bit.
Julie Wee was great! She portrayed a mix of childish innocence and yet maturity in her love towards Romeo. I could feel the immense love she had for Romeo! But i was most blown away by Neo Swee Lin (Nurse) and Erwin (Mercutio). Neo Swee Linlocalised the character so well! And my, she really proved to be a seasoned comedian as well, punch lines were well delivered! And Erwin is one convincing Mercutio. He balanced the sexuality issues really well - manly yet a hint of ambiguity in his sexual preference with his overdramatic actions. I could imagine him as one of my raucous friends.
Never thought I could ever appreciate Shakespeare and theatre but am so glad to have studied it…the world of literature has so much to offer in insights. I have much respect for writers and artists.
Can’t wait to watch Twelfth Night!!!!

A Public Art project in Lower East Side, NY by Molly Crabapple

“Last year, artist and Dr. Sketchy’s founder Molly Crabapple turned 28 years-old. To celebrate, she locked herself in a New York City hotel for an entire week, covering the walls with white butcher paper, drawing on every blank space with black art markers. Crabapple turned to Kickstarter to fund the project, and managed to raise more than $20,000 over her original goal.”

The Lies of the Little Albert Experiment
Poor little Albert was being conditioned to feel fear when faced with white furry things. The experiment was a success and Little Albert would freak out whenever he saw white furry things such as rats, fur jackets or santa’s beard.
Watson conducted the experiment and reported Little Albert was a healthy baby. Little did we know, he lied or wasn’t thorough in his report about Little Albert suffering from hydrocephalus since birth. Little Albert died at age 6. We’ll never know if he enjoyed his childhood or was he just generally scared of everything white and furry…

I feel that about certain people sometimes.
And you know you can’t tell them otherwise because the world tells you that money and pretty things gives you meaning and purpose in life.

Memory can disappear, distort and resurface…
But is the authenticity or the perception more important to your happiness?
Is hiding it or facing it better for your growth?
